MELISSA GAHR, MS, PT, cERTIFIED mdt
Melissa
has over 18 years of experience treating patients with
musculoskeletal and neurological deficits. After graduating
from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science in
Physical Therapy, she obtained an Advanced Master Degree in
Adult Neurological Rehabilitation from Long Island University.
During her 6 years at Rusk Institute at New York University
(world renowned center for rehabilitation in New York City),
she treated patients with strokes, traumatic brain injury,
cardiopulmonary disease, spinal cord injuries, vestibular
disorders and orthopedic and sports injuries. At Rusk
Institute, she was a clinical instructor for the NYU PT
department and developed a community outreach program for
osteoporosis prevention of fractures. Melissa is certified in
the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment of
the Spine.
Over the past decade, her work has become focused in the
private practice setting treating musculoskeletal, spine and
sports injuries. With a special interest in vestibular
dysfunction, Melissa obtained advanced training in vestibular
rehabilitation. She has developed effective vestibular
treatment programs for patients with balance and gait
abnormalities.
