LISA WOODMAN, PT
Lisa has over 25 years of experience in the field of physical therapy, receiving her B.S. degree in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University in 1988. Her career has given her experience in the arenas of occupational health, inpatient and outpatient hospital-based rehabilitation, home health and travelling physical therapy.
Lisa became especially interested in treatment of the spine while working at the Spine Institute at St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco, CA. Lisa’s skill in manual therapy and enthusiasm for working with patients with chronic pain and musculoskeletal disorders let her to pursue extensive, advanced training in Craniosacral Therapy through the Upledger Institute. She has also completed coursework in vestibular therapy, myofascial release, strain-counterstrain, soft-tissue mobilization, joint mobilization and spinal manipulation, muscle energy techniques, functional spinal stabilization, individualized exercise program development and Kinesio taping. Lisa believes in a hands-on, collaborative treatment approach involving the patient and other healthcare practitioners with the goal of decreasing/managing pain and improving quality of life by increasing functional ability.
Lisa grew up in coastal southern Maine, resides in Portsmouth, and enjoys biking, kayaking, cooking and music. |
